DIY Industrial Desk

When you set out to build a modern, stylish desk that's as useful as it is elegant its easy to get overwhelmed with different designs and layouts. When I was designing my dream desk I had 3 criteria for my build. #1 I wanted a big desktop, big enough for any project I wanted to tackle and not be in the harsh temperatures of the garage. #2 I wanted sleek, simple, and sturdy. #3 I didn't want drawers. Drawers lead to clutter and clutter is bad. So with my 3 criteria in-mind I came up with:
A simple black pipe frame with Birch counters. I chose to make it height adjustable to alternate between sitting and standing. The shelves are sized to accommodate a large size desktop computer CPU or a decent sized potted house plant. The cost of the materials was marginal. All together you're looking at $400-$500 when you get done. I chose to spend a little extra and finish the wood with a high-quality clear epoxy. I was so satisfied with the end result I repeated the process for my significant other.
If you would like to have the plans I have gone through the trouble to create a project pack download that you can use. It includes a project outline, plans, and 3D models. I also included parts lists with part numbers and Amazon links to save you some time. You can easily build this in one weekend.
